Crisis training, reimagined
We build AI-powered training tools for first responders. The goal is realistic practice at scale, in a safe environment.
Our methodology
CodeBlu's training framework synthesizes the leading methodologies in modern de-escalation training. We draw on:
- Force Science Institute for behavioral science research on use-of-force decisions, perception-reaction time, and the psychology of high-stress encounters.
- CIT International (Memphis Model) for the foundational Crisis Intervention Team framework that is the industry standard across American law enforcement.
- PERF's ICAT framework (Integrating Communications, Assessment, and Tactics) for the practical tactical decision-making components.
- Colorado CRIT (Crisis Response and Intervention Training) for state-level alignment and Colorado-specific scenarios.
- Crisis Intervention Team Association of Colorado for peer practitioner expertise.
The synthesis is our intellectual contribution. We take the research, frameworks, and practical training elements from across the field and integrate them into a unified curriculum optimized for AI-delivered interactive practice.
CodeBlu does not claim formal partnership, certification, or endorsement from any individual organization. We cite their work, we build on their research, and we credit them where their contributions inform our framework.
Why AI-powered training
Scale. One trainer cannot run scenarios with 50 officers simultaneously. CodeBlu can.
Consistency. Every officer gets the same baseline scenarios, so training is comparable across a department.
Safety. There are no real-world consequences for getting it wrong while learning.
Who builds CodeBlu
CodeBlu is built in Parker, Colorado.
We work with subject matter experts to design scenarios and assessment rubrics. We are not law enforcement ourselves: we build the tools that support the people who are.
